The International Workshop on Spin Coherence and Topological Order in Semiconductor Nanosystems was successfully held at the Beijing Computational Science Research Center on November 2-4, 2016. The workshop was preceded by tutorial sessions, held on October 31 and November 1.
The scientific program highlighted theoretical and experimental aspects related to semiconductor nanostructures, with special attention to spin coherence and the realization of topological states of matter. The event was organized together with Prof. Daniel Loss from the University of Basel and brought together leading experts in the field, to serve as important platform for exchange of ideas and in-depth discussions on forefront topics in this area.
The workshop featured talks from 25 invited speakers, including Prof. David Awschalom from the University of Chicago, Prof. Andrei Bernevig from Princeton University, Prof. Martin B. Plenio from Ulm University, Prof. Shun-Qing Shen from University of Hong Kong, and Prof. Seigo Tarucha from University of Tokyo, etc. The workshop attracted over 70 young scientists and students in China.
